To understand the difference between health and well-being, in short, health is a state of being, while well-being is the state of living a healthy lifestyle. Health refers to physical, mental and social well-being; well-being aims to improve well-being. The main difference between Health and Wellness is that health is the goal and well-being is the active process to achieve it. You really can't have health without first achieving well-being.

Well-being has a direct influence on overall health, which is essential to living a strong, happy and fulfilling life. The term health and wellness are so closely related to each other that they are used interchangeably. When we ask someone how they feel, they respond that they are sick or well and this is because well-being is often used to describe health. However, health is a well-being of body and mind and well-being is the well-being of many more aspects, that is, a healthy person may not be well, but well-being always means health and well-being of life.

Health and wellness are terms that have been used interchangeably, however, they have two different meanings. The biggest difference is in their ultimate goal. Well-being, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is the active pursuit of optimal health and an optimistic view of life. It is a condition of both body and mind in which one is disease free and able to resist it, since health has the highest priority in life. Mental health is just as important as physical health and refers to your emotional, psychological and social well-being. Taking proactive steps such as talking about problems with friends or mental health professionals can help counteract negative emotions as well as strengthen spiritual and interpersonal wellbeing.

Ultimately achieving optimal health requires understanding how these three concepts are related and taking proactive steps towards achieving wellbeing in all aspects of life.
